About Me
I create art that demonstrates experiences, dreams, and thoughts I have had. Much of my art reflects fears and hopes I have in life. My style resembles a mix between abstract expressionism and op-art with the incorporation of natural elements. I utilize various mediums such as: painting/drawing, graphic design, photography and printmaking.
My goal with my art is to explore ideas and conversations that are taboo. The areas of conversation that I explore are religious/spiritual, mental health, environmental, and whatever else comes to mind. My art is mainly just an avenue to explore the meaning of life, why I am here, and what I am meant to do
Printmaking
Printmaking is a new medium I have been exposed to recently and it has become one of my favorite ways to make art–I enjoy the technical aspect of this medium. I have explored relief, Mokuhanga (a Japanese printmaking technique), screen printing, and etchings. I currently don’t have access to a press at home, but both woodcuts and Mokuhanga are accessible to me at home to create various projects. Relief is a printmaking technique that allows printing on fabrics, so I can print designs on t-shirts, bags, or other fabrics. With Mokuhanga, I am able to get a wider variety of colors, but this medium can only be printed on paper.
Drawing/Painting
Drawing and Painting was how I began as an artist and I still have an affinity for these mediums. I have dabbled in various painting mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor and gouache. I also have various experiences with different drawing mediums: pencil, silverpoint, chalk pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, pen and ink. When I find myself drawing and/or painting I enjoy taking more of an abstract approach, but I do also have skill with rendering representational pieces. I have been commissioned for tattoo designs, pet portraits, and other projects.
